The current program offers two types of hurricane-mitigation grants:
Matching Grants
Eligible homeowners may receive $2 in state grant funds for every $1 contributed by the homeowner, with reimbursement of up to $10,000, subject to program requirements, legislative appropriation and available funding.
Low-Income Grants
Eligible low-income homeowners may qualify for grants of up to $10,000 without a matching contribution, subject to program requirements and available funding.

What About the Florida Home Hardening Sales-Tax Exemption?
The previous statewide sales-tax exemption for qualifying impact-resistant windows, doors and garage doors ran from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2024. It should therefore not be represented as a current 2026 tax exemption without confirmation of a new legislative program.
